Recent news:
This last week was a crazy one for R&B Motorsports. As you know we wrecked severely on June 25th. The day after the 25th we took apart our 9 car and ordered parts and shipped out parts that needed to be fixed. We then turned our attention to our Big 8 car as Tuesday we were to race. Tuesday we headed to Madison and enjoyed 3 practice sessions to get use to the track. We qualifed with a 19.403 which knocked 3/10 of a second off the last time we were at Madison but it still put us 28th out of 44 cars. We headed into the semifeature with hopes of racing our way into the feature. The green flag flew and I must have been taking a nap because the field put 15 car lengths before we even got up to speed. We reeled in the cars in front of us but burned the tires off doing so and we did not transfer in. The rain came and the feature was cancelled anyway so we loaded up and went home.
Wednesday was the day that we had to put the 9 car back together. With major help Wednesday night fron Dave Arneson, Chris Arneson, Eric Jevoroski, and Mark Siebers we were able to put our 9 car back together. Thursday we took off work early and Jeremy Giebel and myself put a setup in the car. We then loaded up and headed to the track with not a second to spare. We were the last car to qualify into the feature on time which was amazing due to the rework we had done to the car and the fact that we could not put a new tire on the right side of the car because of the crash the week before. We were not very fast in the heat or the feature but we did bring it home in one piece and we will have more time to get the car right for next weeks race. This was a big set back for the team financially and set up wise. We had the car working great before we wrecked our car. We will work to get it back and hopefully soon we can be moving forward again. I also want to send a thanks to my pit crew of Jeremy Giebel, Jeff Haas and Nick Giebel for thier dedication this week at 2 races.
